Just by seeing the quality of the picture the artist himself uploaded is already a reason to cheer up. Hope we have more artists releasing hi-res pictures from on now. After all, not every artist release artbooks. And not all good scanners get their hands on one.
Not really. The sample or larger version when looking at it normally is JPEG, and the default color for the transparent in JPEG format is black, at least for my browser.
