I don't have this book but I bet the author had watched the lecture of Glenn Vilppu
Most of them do

And similarly, Rey Bustos has an online course called ''draw like the old masters''

Thanks. The Rey Bustos one is similar but still very "gestural". Vilppu is also extremely "feel the form". I'd like a course that is highly analytical, as in you just use math to analyze the figure.

Because figure drawing is something you can feel the structure and gesture altogether, however i recommended them because gesture is the essence of a lively drawing. And yeah Mr. Bustos is analytical but i suppose you have the fundamentals to carry on in his course. He taught the classical drawing more than the casual drawing, not academically but through a casual way of feeling the old masters.

Sometimes i think he doesn't follow the academic drawing style ( which is to follow the reference, still life, real life model form and plane changes ) which artists don't always do.

That's what i have felt throughout his course teachings few years ago. He taught how to draw the good artists in the past centuries. Just a thing, every artist has different aim, and i think artists should be able to think in 3d before drawing a perfect 2d first

I completely understand what you mean :D Compare the two

vs

I personally would like to draw like the first examples. I just don't find the "scribbly, flow-y" thing appealing (as in, starting with the gesture). I feel like gesture will come naturally with good design (as I can already do with heads, just start with the eyes for example, similar to KJG). It's just a personal preference and both "methods" have it's benefits :D Even courses like the Riven Phoenix one are very analytical, although his artwork isn't great, I love the methodology.
Can anybody tell me a simple program for removing the DRM from files on Mac, please?

I downloaded ePub but it says the free trial has run out. I can’t say I can remember even using it ><

Also, I don’t suppose any one has a copy of this book, do they?

https://www.amazon.com/Mythical-Beasts-Artists-Designing-Creatures/dp/1909414484/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Mythical+beasts&qid=1560002283&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

You can remove DRM from the kindle by using calibre.
And I believe there is a mac version too.

You can find more info about calibre, just by googling.

That's why I always find Leonardo DaVinci art fascinating
His art is interesting with the golden ratio
And the way he engaged the art and the mathematics doesn't make those artists
hate maths
Instead, his maths is what's so accurate on actual human ratio, proportion

Until today, it's still more than a miracle to imagine a man existed actually in the Renaissance era.
At least for me, it is.

In terms of artistic approach, Leon. didn't do a really great job as other famous artist in his living era
However, his contribution in Maths and Anatomical knowledge, is more than that.

For the Aesthetics, I think he wasn't the best, but he did the ''make art looks appealing'' thing right

They're both stylised, the defined ''plane changes'' of your first example of line drawing
and the traditional American art style from Glenn V.
And the slightly traditional art style from Rey B.

But yeah, we're newer generation, we absorb their knowledge and create
that's what we the artist does

I agree. I guess I have to make my own "analytical" tutorials some day, since the "extreme" ones don't exist in video format or are very obscure :D
Does anyone have JH Stonehouse Anatomy?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/StoneHouses-Anatomy-Note-People-Coloring-Art-Activity-Drawing-Painting-Book-/132764234436

He's a Superani artist so it probably has a bunch of KJG teachings :D
