oh, i see, thanks for your information....for manga drawing i never read book from western author, and currently i focus reading Sketching Manga Style 1-5, and still working on (Sketching Manga Style 1).
i have read and downloaded all the five and, they were by far the most useful! i vastly improved after i started reading them! but i'd also recommend the book manga kiso no dessin here on yande.re, it's really helpful in terms of clothes, the subject that the sketching books didn't have. good luck!

some of them are free if you look were you should. but all of these books were uploaded by a user and i had them in a collection, but she kinda left and they're not here anymore. but these books are actually outdated compared to today's drawing standard, i think its better to get the newer books from go-office with art by kazuaki, problem is that their scans are also hard to find...
wanting to be a foreign mangaka is hard a your dreams can be crushed by the littlest of things...
other problem is that sometimes you think you found an actually good course until you later realize that they're just chinese knock out versions of good go office books. IMPORTANT: DON' T READ THE BOOKS WITH THE TITLE DONG MAN XIU CHANG, THEY'RE JUST TRACED CG WORK OF PIXIV ARTISTS AND ANIME SCREENSHOTS. you'll thank me later. also don't even think about reading chris hart books, katy coope books, maybe you can read mark crilley, but don't trust the others.
Thank you! I will search for these books on Scribd. I know these books are outdated, sadly no other good collection was translated to English. I have a collection of 500 drawing books, mostly downloaded from VK/Eddiesekiguchi or collected from my teachers, and I liked the didacticism and the range of examples from the How to Draw Manga collection. As I don't know Japanese, these books the ones that I've mostly liked, but I saw some from GoOffice and I will use them after I get better. I have a lot of Dong Man Xiu Chang, and for me they are useless, since, as you said, they just collected artwork and sold as a drawing book. I have too a lot of American books but only the Comic or Concept books are good. As I am looking forward to draw manga, they are not useful either. Anyway, I want to complete my How to Draw Manga collection and use them as a support beside my drawing classes, so I will search for them in the next days. Thank you very much.

You first have to have an account there. Then, you are successful in creating an account just click on the reply section of the specific page where you want to download the tutorial. After replying, you will be able to download it easily as if you were downloading stuff from other hosting sites. ^_^
Ah I see, Thank you :D

Yeah, I made the mistake of buying a few christopher hart books a while ago, never again. Loved em for about a week until I laid my eyes on some authentic Japanese manga and realized what I had bought was basically just Americanized garbage taking me nowhere with my aspirations of being a mangaka. So far I've only downloaded Japanese (some in Chinese) howto manga books but I'm thinking about looking into the Sketching Manga Style volumes.

Im having trouble registering for dawandao because i dont speak chinese and there is a question you have to answer in chinese to sign up??
Im not sure??

Has anyone had any success signing up??
Yup. It's just a captcha, Just enter the text in red from the image.

TIP: Google translator ->simplified chinese, pen icon at the bottom to turn handwriting on, (a graphic tablet will speed things up a lot here, trust me), then paste your verification answer back on the register form.

Worked like a charm for me.

ps: if anyone's got an invitation code for cgebook.com pretty please let us know on here.

I have found 3 ways to get an invitation code at cgebook: http://www.cgebook.com/thread-58766-1-1.html

I used some translation and well, basically here:

1. You use QQ to login, and then post 2 of your own drawings, then send it to the mods with title request for invitation code, then wait for reply. [I used software translation so I'm not sure how to do it, but overall there's such a method exists.]

2. Pay to get it.

3. If you have friends who has an account already, they could use their forum points to buy an invitation code and give it to you.

Anyone knows Chinese may register here, I guess.

Edit: for method 1, I found this http://www.cgebook.com/plugin.php?id=mo_qqgroup_dzx. After register an QQ account, you need to join the first group but I'm trying to figure out how.
Thank you! I followed your steps and just got my verification code today from a mod and managed to create my account at cgebook without knowing a single word in Chinese ♥♥♥. Here's what I did, I made a qq account at www.imqq.com. Downloaded qq messenger on my phone and sent a request to join their group. (gotta get the qq messenger app, log in, scroll down to contacts, tap on the add buddy icon (top right corner), go to "find group" and type in the group #: 160670012, tap on "join group" at the very bottom)...and on the blank field you have to put in this "申请邀请码"..which (according to google) means apply for a verification code..lol anyways..just in case, i then clicked on the group's title/icon thingy and then on the the person who created the group, got his qq ID, and sent him a buddy request, and again I texted him with the following message "申请邀请码"...and voilà!, he texted back with my verification code, then i went back on cgebook.com and the verification code worked just fine.

ps: it won't let me download or view any links on the forums though...in fact it says I need more points or something..so I take it you have to pay for a VIP account or contribute somehow....either way I'm pretty clueless so far and google translator isn't helping at all.
