TN panels have extremely bad viewing angles where the colors change a lot depending on from where you're looking at the monitor. Viewing angles on IPS and PVA panels are barely ever noticeable but are a lot more expensive. Professional grade monitors are usually IPS and sometimes PVA, and are aimed at professional work and imaging use, so generally don't have a need for media entertainment connections.
