i guess it depends... on how the world ends... i was going to say adventure time... but reading alice from resident evil movies... kind of suggest you're looking for a conventional one...

normally... i'd suggest that the subject will have to make use of the element that has brought the apocalypse... robot body parts... virus immunity... monster pet...

there are also the indirect approaches such as time traveler's default appearance to a post apocalyptic time... an alien exploring a broken world...

or there is also approaches like fist of the north star... or book of eli...

or you can have all mixed together...
