The rebuild of evangelion came in to "revolutionize" our "evangelic" experience...and to do that, apparently some things HAD to change, like our lovely Asuka's name, which is now Asuka Langley Shinikami <a war destroyer>.
i wonder if they changed it for her name to fit with the new character's Mari Illustrious Makinami <also a destroyer>. (Mari is the pilot of the eva05 - which has 4 legs with wheels and claws instead of hands...those new eva designs are not easy to get use to either, but are not that bad).
So...I don't know what should happen to the tag for Asuka now...should both exist? only the soryu one? or it depends which suit she's wearing? the time of release?...

Stick with the original name and that's it. It's still the same (annoying) char.

There's no difference between them, so shikinami_asuka_langley was aliased to souryuu_asuka_langley a long time ago.

well... shio chan... langley is also a ship... as well as the soryu, except that it's not a destroyer... spoilertoo bad the provisional unit 05 didn't last that long... it was mari who piloted the eva 02... i like the new concept about evas' bindings purpose are to retain their human form though...
