loli tag doesn't apply...
anyone who knows the to heart 2 story would know that maaryan is actually the second oldest character ( yuzuhara_haruka being the oldest) if i remember correctly, maaryan should be the same age as himekawa_kotone

i do not think it can be the reason. in japanese there is a word "合法ロリ" (legal loli) to point a character who setted as an old age but has a semblance of loli, means you can "push her down" cause she isn't a loli in age. but everyone knows it's a mask. believe you eyes, what you see is actual, it's a 2-jigen chara.
