Artist: shimura takako
Artist and author of several manga series, including Aoi Hana and Hourou Musuko. Born 1973, female. Japanese name: 志村貴子.
Shimura's works often address topics related to sexual minorities. Her storytelling incorporates realistic, romantic, and sometimes erotic elements with nonlinear narrative techniques into a soft slice-of-life style targeted towards both male and female readers.
Her art style is soft as well, and clear and simple to the point of sometimes getting critique for being vague. She has herself admitted having difficulty with designing characters specific enough. In addition to the usual monochrome manga illustrations, she also produces colored works; her watercolor ones deserve special mention.
