What about creating a new tag type? The system is able to do that dynamically on the config, it would just need a new color in the css.
I would agree to this.
I love vectors, and I vector things myself, but the ability to trace art does not make you an artist. Vector traces should be about providing high quality versions/alternatives of lower quality images (poor quality scans, scans with lots of text, screencaps, etc.) because you like the image, not because you want to see your name praised. True vector art is different if it's your own art, but vector _traces_ are a different animal completely. If you make a tag for vector tracers, you need to have one for photoshoppers, scanners, etc.

To the best of my knowledge, there aren't hordes of vectorers crying on a daily basis about their name not being present. It's usually just a few people from time to time who are never happy with anything. It would be silly to change so much for the sake of pleasing certain incommodious people.

Agreed, +1
I fully agree with Velen. Vector traces (not vector art itself) and scans have all the same purpose; if we're tagging the first group, it would be really rude to ignore the other. Why not simply link back to the vectorer's gallery in the source field?
