What specific long-term consequences are you concerned about?
It's sophistry, I'm not a business planner, can't speculate on how the more-or-less severe ad options were feasible to both gain money and thin out the herd of users. There must be a lot of non-linear guesswork behind deciding which ads to serve.

To have a non-explicit yande.re for guests seemed like a deliberate act. Something must have changed there, small damage there is already done. I doubt most users care, but it's not always about the users.
I understand your concerns. To clarify the situation, we're facing two significant challenges:

#1: The site's bandwidth consumption is at its maximum capacity. Currently, yande.re is utilizing an entire 1Gbps line, which translates to about 300TB of data each month. It's not feasible for us to increase our bandwidth allocation beyond this point without additional funding.

#2: An urgent server upgrade is necessary. While I can't share specific details, please understand that upgrading our server infrastructure is not just important, it's critical for the continued operation of the site.

For over a decade, yande.re has been a labor of love that I've supported out of my own pocket. It's a significant financial burden each month, but I'm committed to this community.

In light of your feedback, I'll explore ways to minimize the impact of explicit banner ads on SFW areas of the site. Is this what you're asking for?

Your input is valuable, and I'm here to work towards a resolution that serves the best interests of our community.
Those ADs have fucked up every. I can't get the damn site to load anymore. Constant DNS errors for 4-5 days now. The only way I can get this sits to work is on my smartphone with cell data.
I love this site. I love this site even with the new ads. I have absolutely no issues accessing or using the site. Thank you, Checkmate, for making this site available to us for all these years. I am hoping it stays active for a long time to come. If I have one recommendation it would be this: Maybe give users a choice. Either pay a modest subscription to access the site or just view the ads. I would gladly pay a small amount monthly to use this site. Keep up the good work Checkmate!
i can't believe ive been here for quite a while... i can still remember when dovac decides to go for new opportunities and introduces checkmate... hard to believe it's over 10 years from that... feels like it was just yesterday when i bought the first nekopara figures... time sure flies by...

been a member since 2009... my home and lifestyle went through a lot of changes since then...

anyway... i'm very thankful for checkmate in continuing to run the site... been coming here to get away from people who knows me from the internet...

azd... chika... mrgt... riven... debbie... i wonder how they're doing now...
Had another couple of thoughts on this since my last post. Maybe put up a go fund me for the equipment you need as one goal with a secondary goal of getting some money to help with expenses in the short term until whatever issues are happening with the ads get sorted out? Also, if there isn't already, I think the site needs maybe a Discord server to go to in case of worst case scenarios and the site crashes or worse. Best to be prepared than to be sorry. If there is an emergency fall back could you post the link here? Thanks.
For me, a monthly subscription is a better solution to support you, because I don’t often open the website, but use a Python script I wrote to download the posts I like. Sometimes I also use software such as Flexbooru to view the posts. So most of the time I'm not exposed to ads on the site. I think there are quite a few people who are the same as me.

I mention it once but due to yande.re hosting quite many controversial content, that would be tough. I had a few ideas but the works would be huge.

Hello, thank you for your kind thoughts. I'm aware some may utilize various wrapper applications to access this website. Some apps even display their own ads.
