In order to be GAR, a char must be MANLY (so manly, they would even shed MANLY TEARS).

In fact, I dare to say there are only few examples of real GAR in animU:

-Ace Goodheart (lol).
-Koji Kabuto.
-Kenshiro.
-Joseph Joestar (Jotaro is a poser).
-Phoenix Ikki.
-Guts.
-Archer.
-Etc.

I must admit, though, that I'm biased against the "lol girls can be gar" because of the overall failure SaiGAR was, some years ago. At least Guts won that time, but a lot of people were rooting for Nanoha for other (non GAR) reasons -_-
