I'm not sure if this reminds me more of FLCL or Soul Eater, but stylistically, it definitely makes me think of them more than Evangelion.

Well you should lean more towards FLCL since it's the same artist for the FLCL light novels and art director for episode 5... Imaishi Hiroyuki san..jus sayin... :)
