what kind of manikin figure do you use for drawing? I currently use the version proposed by loomis (somehow detailed ribcage + double-disc pelvis) for torso, and simple cylinders for legs and arms.

I'll use this tutorial... its really helpfull. Unfortunately there's no male tutorial. :( Loomis? I don't know....He's good?

I use stick figures with circles as the joints.

You can find them on the "How to Draw Manga" series of tut books.

I use the standard Female wooden Mannikin 8" and I bought myself a Obitsu 25cm SBH Female White body too. SBH is the best body imo, the crotch area of all of other body type are rather irregular as the SBH is more streamline to look realistic (magnetic one too). Personally I think are kinda not as useful and helpful in my drawings as I'd hoped them to be. If you want ultraposable female figures, get Pose Studio.

Hell, grab yourself a Figma, it'd probably be better overall. Probably a more naked one than usual.

@crim: I have problems drawing legs from head-on angle, maybe I'll look into that pixiv tutorial.
@aoie: Do you use wooden figures for actual dessin set-up, or just play around to find a pose that you like?

No, just proportion and posing. Clothes I just draw separately.

ps: Actually need a new wooden manikin, nephews tore off her right arm and leg >.>

Awwww the pose studio's so great and Loomis too, but I prefer this tutorial book. And I still need male tutorials. :(
