Ito's design doesn't fit the atmosphere of Another in my opinion... I guess it'll work better for the anime like this.

I agree. As much as I like the style, It doesn't fit with this sort of anime. The novel is a completely different more serious style.

It's all about tastes but, I think Itou's design fit the atmosphere of the anime quite nicely. Maybe we are just too used to see his'/her's designs used for cute eroge/manga/anime.
