Tsuyubana (Rainy Season Flowers)

How do you do, my name is o-ji.
People often talk of the four seasons of Japan, but I think that it should really be five seasons.
In between ‘invigorating spring’ and ‘hot summer’ there comes the ‘rainy season’ that does not resemble either or them.
Most people say that they hate the rainy season, but personally, I like it. For this exhibition I have tried to bring out my personal image of the dampness of the rainy season.
‘Rain, dolls hung up to wish for good weather, a Japanese umbrella, hydrangeas, a tree frog, a snail’, and ‘a young girl’ who thinks that if it is going to feel horrible to get a little wet, she might as well get soaked.’
