It's amazing how rare Aoki Ume illustrations for this series are considering he (she?) was the original designer.

I don't know, she designed it but uhhh... yeah it's kind of weird considering most people that does the original character design has a decent amount of it.

Aoki Ume --> Character design.
Inu Curry --> Witch, barrier design.

Most "original designers" are just author/illustrator of original manga/novel which was adapted into anime. In Madoka's case, it's an original anime, therefore the presence of "original character design" is kinda limited compare to animes based on light novels.
