tbh i think carnelian totally sold herself out....
her style is completely different from before, like 5 years or so earlier...
its gotten "common" coloring, "common" lineart, in the most fancy yet generic way possible.
i guess shes trying to be more popular.

its not working. at least not to me. nowadays i hate her stuff. it makes me want to cry. i miss the days of sanctuary knocker. that was a legit style. and legit creations. now? just moe shit and fanservice to sell.

i never said shes not popular.

on the contrary, from what ive seen, shes gotten more and more popular.
what im saying is that her style change isnt pleasing ME. i think she changed her illustrations style to appeal to a broader public. hence "trying to be more popular". seems her strategy is working. but shes really FORCING it, in >my< opinion. anyways she was always a commercial artist from the very start, so maybe that too is questionable.

and ofc popularity =/= quality i think that is clear in every area of life lol

Artists sometimes have to change their style to follow the fashion, because they want to survive in the business.

i didnt address it directly because i have no means of accurately measuring her popularity.
i just exposed my opinion about her popularity issues in relation to her art.

it might be naive of me to say that, but i think truly successful artists are the ones who are original.
