I haven't used "source" field other than transferring images from url directly, so is there other use?
please make it clear the guideline of how to use source field.
Sources are for original source of the scan.

ex. paper copy of it.

Like this one is " (Comic1☆) (同人誌) [A.O.I PROJECT] MEDITATION "

That is what the the source should really be used for. But not like all of our images are from just paper copies. Such as users posting pixiv images like sayori who's most come from her site.

One of the other use is to credit the original scanner, if the poster doesn't know where the source of the image.

I suppose if you were to make a list:

1. Paper Copy (Original source) - This is the recommended one.
2. Net Copy (Original URL of the image)
3. Online Alias (so the credit goes to the scanner since the source is unknown)
4. Blank = lazy ^^

ps: There is no official rule on the source field blank spot, so i'm making it up as I go to fit it the most.

Such an alluring cover ^^

*wink* *wink*

midzki :)
Err, no...

The source field is just the URL where the image came from, if any. It's usually not used at all.
There are some mentions in the Wiki but nothing particularly consistent.
I'm sorry aoie. your comment is too long, so I skipped it and just read peto's :P
I just think sometimes it's used by dramafags to get their own show XD
I often find ones with 'photoshop' or 'vector' or other random silliness around danbooru heh.

Hahaha :)

Well... that's what I think ^^
and aoie, I hope you'll add the artist name to the pool, and remove meaningless labels :)
I do that to most of our tags. I've complained about it enough and I don't wanna start another fight ^^
