So here goes my new tapestry I think.
Tell me if I miss something, also turned blue down a bit.
Actually I prefer the original color, this one looks a little yellowish.

That's because you are always under the high ambient color temperature from room's fluorescent lamp. Getting a life solves this issue.
The print looks dimmed actually.
can't tell what color is good before knowing the aim of the artist.

Hi Kanban Musume San, when you need to judge the color, you just need sunlight. Btw, sunlight is not 日光灯, not light given by the fluorescent in your dorm, it is the light from the sun. (shinken na kao de)
………… please ignore the two of them..

I find that just pulling the saturation bar all the way up (saturation +12~+15 in PS CS3 hue/saturation) makes this picture look vivid and not dimmed. This is the first time I find increasing saturation this useful. I wonder if anyone feels the same, or it's the problem of my taste...

No, it's not just you. I feel the same.
And I think increasing the saturation a bit more and make this picture more colorful really fits it well.
