the basic way of scanning
1) Debind your book.
2) Clean your book, scanner and room.
3) Put the page which has the whitest color and blackest color in the book on the scanner
4) Put a piece of black construction paper over the scanning page, or tape the black sheet onto the back cover of the scanner.
5) Activate the scanner and turn off filters like USM, moire filter, e.t.c.
6) Set dpi=600, save as BMP or other lossless format.
7) Press the preview button and set a crop frame
8) Use the auto contrast. If the page you picked has both the blackest color and the whitest color, the auto contrast can work (if it didn't work, you'll need to adjust manually)
9) Save this setting and scan all pages with this setting.
10) After scanning, resize your scans at 300dpi (or another) with lanczos resampling method using Xnview or Irfanview, then save as PNG.
