Probably the text of comment would be nice too if it started at the height of the start edge of the image instead of the nick., although I'm not so sure about that.
I agree with this. Drop the text to the top of the image, it'll look better.

The grey background is looking good too.
Another thing I noticed.
Should the avatar be linking to the post image? Wouldn't that make it a bit confusing for the casual visitor?

I could see a sense of making it link to the post page where the avatar comes when you are already in the user profile, but not in comments / forum posts

I kinda like the feature myself, it's nice being able to open up an image that interests me in a background tab while I'm reading comments, for later viewing.
Having it tie into the image on the site is half of what makes it anything more than the regular "random image" avatar system every forum software has.
Random weirdness report: Loaded the site up (main posts page) and got a 'Post Deleted' message at the top of the screen for no apparent reason. Obviously I'd only just loaded the page and hadn't done anything yet (and wouldn't be deleting posts even if I was doing anything), so I'm guessing that's not meant to happen :)

edit: well, it doesn't seem to be doing it any more so it was probably just some random wibble or other.
I've seen that a few times (notices getting sent to the wrong user), but so far I havn't been able to reproduce it. (That stuff is stored in cookies, so I can't think of how it could happen...)

Fixed "must be a privileged user" when viewing deleted posts. Deleted posts no longer disappear from the comment index.
Speaking of deleted posts, why is there no option to simply "edit" a comment on an image? To fix a little typo I have to copy the text, delete the post and post the updated one. Just seems a bit unnecessary.

Oh, and I personally love how the avatar links directly to the image page.
It's just never been implemented.
Just tested and imho it doesn't feel so expanded for not implementing the thing of lowering the text to the height of the avatar.

It adds clarity at least from my point of view, at least in the comments feels a lot better

That looks strange to me--the gap feels incorrect--and it'd look more strange for people without an avatar...

What about this then?

That one isn't too bad.
That makes it look like the links are for the next post.
Post Deleted
Looks like a caching bug, should be fixed. Also cleaned up rendering in IE7.

You sure are putting things difficult lol

Updated from upstream, including a move to Rails 2.1. Adds "favorite tags". Not much else visible worth mentioning, but let me know what broke...
Added new comment notification (as you've probably already noticed). Hopefully fixed the forum notification getting stuck on, too.

They don't work. You need to find a way to get the dark grey background to naturally split the threads.

I see that there are more links in 'more...' which go no where. Not spotted anything major yet.

See that 'hover over' shows user now.

I'll retract that statement.

Well I'm out of ideas I just feel like the way it is now is a bit off

I'm not sure what you mean, he only changed stuff inside each thread.

Icon isn't bad, but with the "open" layout (everything floating), I'm used to the text being aligned vertically with the name, so that layout feels a little odd to me.

I tried http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/7725/tmpta5.jpg . It's not really bad, but it has the same problem as the line one: it's too busy and delimits the posts too strongly. (It makes it feel more like a bunch of separate posts--like a regular forum--and less like a single conversation.)

(fixed uploads being set to pending, added lazy control-enter shortcut to submit reply forms)
Just noticed another issue. I can't change pages in here.
Yeah it needs some margins now that you mention. And maybe it feels odd now but it's just a matter of getting used to. I still would prefer something like that than the current one.
'More...' Image search is not working ATM
The pop up notices need to stay up longer. They seem to stay around for 5-7 seconds at the moment.
I can't approve anything in the moderate queue.
Hi, I don't know if this is the correct place to post this, but I noticed that the list of users who favorited a post is automatically truncated. I like this idea, but may I suggest that the list always display the logged in user's name if he has that post favorited?
