As part of a larger change I'm designing, I've changed the default index sorting from id number to creation date. This should have more or less zero visible effect (just testing it), but let me know if anything is weird.
I'll try the overlay without a hotkey for a while and see if it's annoying.
Looks good to me.petopeto said:

The overlay isn't all that annoying, but if you don't remove the standard tooltip which appears after hovering over an image for a second or so, both combined become annoying. The standard tooltip also duplicates the information with the exception of uploader so it doesn't make sense to keep both.petopeto said:

It also might not be a bad idea to add a slight delay to the new overlay so you can actually reach the image you want to know about without 5 other distracting things popping up along the way.
It is kinda annoying actually. I don't generally like junk cluttering up what I'm looking at without me telling it to. Suppose it's not too horrendous (not like popups or redirect ads) but I still prefer the hotkey version.petopeto said:

Yeah, instant popup is a bad thing imo, a couple second delay would be useful.Cyberbeing said:

It does make the index look pretty untidy. Is there anyway to dock the info elsewhere on the page rather then popping up on top of the thumbnails?
The more I look at it, the uglier it gets. It really does make the index look busy...
Turn it off please.

Is there anyway to make an user option ?
Yeah, user selectable sounds like a plan, I personally hate it as it is but eh, some people probably like it.
Tag scripts and quick edit now float in the corner instead of sitting in the sidebar. This makes it much easier to use when you have more than one screenful of posts to edit.
Tag scripts can now be applied more easily: click a post and drag across other images.

Uploads made using the API (not via the regular UI) will now be automaticlaly tagged "possible_duplicate" if the dupe check finds any possible matches, so they can be checked by hand later. Previously, the dupe checker wasn't run on API uploads at all.
Pool sorting is improved. The default sort is by creation date (not modified date); if you do a search, it'll sort by name, with a natural sort order (#1 < #9 < #10). (You can use /pool/index?order=updated to get the old updated sort; there's no interface for this right now.) The pool index now shows the creation date instead of the pool public flag.
You can shift blocks of pool posts using the + and - links in the order page.
Dupe check is no longer performed on upload if you set a parent with the post.
As mentioned elsewhere, post holding (metatags "hold" and "unhold") and hiding ("hide", "show") added. (The -show metatag was changed because it conflicts with tag scripts.)

"pool:123" searches now sort according to the pool ordering, as if you'd viewed them in pool/show, unless you specify another order. (This is useful because the quick edit stuff on the post index isn't available in the pool index.)
If you add a child post to a pool, the pool view will show the parent instead. To view the actual child posts, use the "view originals" link in the pool menu. The download links follow what you're viewing; if you want to download a ZIP of the child posts, use the download link from the originals view.
Searching for "pool:123" will only show the posts normally seen in pool/show. Add "pool_posts:orig" to see originals, or "pool_post:all" to show everything.

You can now quickly reparent posts from the index. Select "reparent posts", click on the child post, and drag to the parent post. Just click on a child post and release to unparent.
Changes to parenting made with quick edit (reparent and parent: tag scripts) now updates the post parenting borders immediately.

Blacklists can be edited from the index.
The poster is now shown in the thumbnail popup.
Previously, if a pool contained orders 1 through 50, the filenames would be padded to "01.jpg", "02.jpg", etc. Now, if an order like "5-6" exists, that filename will also be padded to "05-06.jpg", and not "05-6.jpg".
Fixed LQ ZIP files sometimes having the wrong extensions.
Fixed removing a vote sets it to 1 instead of 0.

Why use 'hidden' instead of 'blacklisted' ?petopeto said:

That's what that bar has always been titled...
I don't even like the term "blacklisted". It makes it sound like it's a list of Bad Stuff, rather than Stuff I Don't Like.

Changes made by users who signed up recently are now shown as bold in the history list.
Due to abuse, users can now only delete their own posts for 24 hours after posting. After that, if you want a post deleted, you'll need to flag it instead.
*sigh* The usual few spoiling it for the many situation.
Can't activate old holds :/
The hold metatag seems to be broken for privileged/contributors.
Which posts do you want to activate? I can try doing it for you.midzki said:

That was fine (the order of release might be a little weird though).
What happens if you try to upload something with the hold tag?

thanks.
today's uploads (moeoh) are fine.
but old holds haven't notification [activate holds post] after [This post has been temporarily held from the index by the poster] on the view pages.

If an image is in a Pool, would it be possible to have the Pool name show up on the thumbnail tooltip from the index and search pages?
Not having to click on each image to determine if they are all in the same Pool (or not in a Pool at all) would be a nice feature.

Upgraded the sample resizing from bilinear to lanczos. Not much of a difference at this size, but it'll help for later things. Old samples havn't been recreated (yet, anyway).
um... sorry for the intrusion... i'm kind of lost on where i should be asking about my question (or navigating at any sites at all). but did the pool's download for low quality option got removed? my apologies for my improper post
That's a good point. Thought it was just a particular pool i was viewing that was non-LQ. Upon further looking into i realized you have a point with most pools missing LQI think it may be a proper place to ask.(Could be wrong me-self.)
