Things are gradually getting worse in this era / generation. More censorship / alteration in games, SJWs, some people rioting because their candidate didn't win, etc.
But on the other hand people who are against the oversensitive pampering are also getting more vocal about it. I think SJWs will start to lose ground again in the near future as their movement has little to no actual substance beyond their 'emotions'.
Also, the fact 'their' candidate didn't win to begin with, despite how vocal and confident they were, shows there's actually a huge amount of otherwise 'silent' people that do disagree with them and are willing to voice it. spoiler(I know this is grossly oversimplifying it and I don't know or care that much about the American elections or politics so take this with a grain of salt)
_____________
_____________ In my country (the Netherlands) there has recently been an overly sensitive, 'politically correct' movement on the uprise as well (mostly racism/discrimination focused).
It's difficult to explain to outsiders but the gist is that they're playing the victimcard in EVERY situation, and in turn want to make the native inhabitants feel guilty for anything that might hurt their feelings. Most ridiculous of all: they are pretty much confirmed to have ties with the totalitarian Turkish government (Erdogan). I'm not even making this up.
Thing is, much like American SJWs, they do an absolutely horrible job at arguing and through that have been opening the eyes of many people, who prevously might have been indifferent to the subject (silent majority) or were even 'politically correct' themselves. What's more, many respectable, intelligent and proliferic people have been starting to speak out against them in national media and defend 'western' principles of free speech and the like.
In general I am positive that this 'SJW' investment will not become a lasting thing as long as the internet will stay openly available so that people can inform themselves and widen their horizons and SJWs thus can't use their 'appeal to emotions' tactics in local media effectively.
