Why do images from a few days or even months ago appear every time I open the website?
Why can’t the images on the website homepage be sorted by upload date? Every time, there are images from a few days ago or even a month ago appearing on the homepage, which prevents me from getting the latest images immediately.

I’m not a moderator, but to browse Yande.re daily for more than 15 years, now, I can tell you why: most of the uploaded images are kept hidden for a time to not flood the index, for several reasons:
– We don’t want to have dozens of new pages to browse every day (especially if most of the new posts are just variants of the same picture).
– Sometimes, posts are yet to be correctly tagged before they are ready to be shown in the index.
– And surely others reasons I don’t think right now.

The thing is, when you unhide a post, it is shown in the index as the most recent one, without regard of its actual recency. That’s why the most “recent” posts at a given time can be days or months old, actually. Yeah, it’s disturbing, but it’s how the software works.

If you really want to see the index by its real posting order, you can do a search for “order:id_desc”: as the wiki says, it will show posts “in descending order based on post ID” (add “holds:all” to show hidden posts as well, if you want).

Ok, thanks
