sure, using a vpn will hide IPs and encrypt traffic, but the uk (now) has the authority to decrypt said encryption. I'm convinced they've been doing it for years anyway but are now formalizing it to avoid any problems in the future.kiho said:

honestly I'm not sure much will change. sure, they can see what websites you're viewing but as long as there's nothing grossly obscene on the site (we're talking very very illegal) the domain won't get flagged. since there's https here, they can't view the uri anyway I'm pretty sure.
Don't worry, they'll ban those next.kiho said:

just another reason to be using a VPN in 2017. still won't change anything in the uk though since they can't possibly think they're going to regulate every adult website on the internet
Won't be long before you will have to use a VPN with a government mandated backdoor.
They'll just ban any VPNs that allow access to content they don't like. Or at least that's what they seem to be suggesting in Russia: https://meduza.io/en/news/2017/06/08/russian-lawmakers-move-to-ban-vpns-and-internet-anonymizersNotRadioactiveHonest said:
