Actually, some studies have shown that actually simulating those things reduce the number of occurrences in real life (e.g.: the time GTA III launched, the US has seen it's lowest crime rate in centuries, and Japan, known for it's lolies and "child pornography" actually has the lowest child abuse rates on the globe). But then, who the hell pays attention to evidence and reason when you can have prejudices and look important?
