I cannot say for everywhere in the world, but where I live most girls will like to be complimented for their ass, and most girls who have nice ass like their ass to be looked at. But Tohsaka Fan is right, you have to be sensible to know who and when to compliment for their ass; not everyone will like it. I think it's safe to compliment a girl's ass when she is specifically exposing it and want people to look at it, like if she is wearing a thong or a really short shorts that exposes part of her bare ass.

I once read in a magazine -- I think it was Playboy -- a few stories by girls of pickup lines they received in clubs. One said that she was dancing to a sensual song wearing a tight jean pants, and a guy approached her and said something like, "I'm going crazy with the shaking of that impeccable ass." Of course a club is the ideal place to compliment a girl for her ass, specially if she is dancing to a sensual song wearing tight or short clothes, but she said she really liked it and the guy managed to pick her up.
