Artists doing a revision are not compelled to keep the versions archived. Apparently they substitute it on the page with the same address? Making yande.re a history page of sorts.

It's not like the size is the essence here. There's at least hip redraw on one pair of images. Maybe the uploader(s) get(s) notified of new uploads or versions at pixiv, and more or less automatically grab(s) them to reupload here.
