It's done in Tags>Aliases menu at the top of any yande.re page.

Thank you. I did try one, but it doesn't change the search. Am I doing it wrong?

The "howto:tag" wiki article mentions that the list is where you "place a request." Must be why several lines at the top have a distinct background color, them being requests for aliases pending moderator approval. Approved aliases get suggested and substituted in post tag or search fields.
