– if a BA character only has a halo, but not feathered wings, we have to add “halo”.
– if the character has both a halo and feathered wings, we have to add “angel” but not add “halo”.

Correct, but the complexity shouldn't be any different as refraining from tagging bunny_girl and leotard at the same time since the first often implies the second, but not the other way around.

Some pics are tagged angel without halos, but that would be the same situation as the reverse bunny girl outfits since they are bunny girls but don't have leotards.

That's right. Halo tags will separate them, especially when the devil character has a halo.

IMHO that looks like wings of a fallen angel (?), so I guess tagging angel is OK?

P.S. The wings of shimoe_koharu here look more like those of birds, so IMHO neither angel nor devil should be tagged.

halo just means having halo. So any images feature an halo should be tagged so, regardless if the character resembles an angel or not. Just like wings, or bunny_ears.

I haven't gotten around to mass editing generic angel images to add halo, because lots of them don't actually have halos (e.g. post #35633). If anyone want to help add some yourself, feel free to.

The reason bunny_girl isn't tagged as leotard is kinda historical, and not very consistent I have to say.

Also, I honestly won't call characters such as hanekawa_hasumi or Kenzaki_Tsurugi as "angels", but I don't know BA lore.

I don't know the lore either, but are we trying to exclude anyone that looks like a fallen angel from the tag?

Well… Until now, I used to do a search for “blue_archive -angel holds:all” to add the then missing “angel” tag for “halo-ed” characters. One tag to add. Ctrl-Tab, Ctrl-V, Enter, and so on.

Now, I’ll have to search for “blue_archive -angel -halo holds:all” and add either “angel” (if halo and wings) or “halo” (if halo but not wings). Two tags to add, and it depends on the character’s appearance. And I’m not even talking about Aleax’s uploads, where most of the needed tags are omitted…

Well, you know that tags refer more to the look of the characters than their real characteristics: “loli” is used for Q or E posts showing a visually prepubescent character, even if this character is canonically an adult (but the tag is also used for “oppai lolis”). I think it’s the same thing here, for “angel”.

I think Blue Archive character with black feather wings can be tagged as "angel". In Anime, they call it as "Fallen Angel", black halo & feather wings. But in some case this "Fallen Angel" has horns w/ tail (post #79745). Also, angel character without halo (post #182086, post #177201, post #369742, post #401430, post #415318), devil character with feather wings and horns (post #415202, post #415203).

As for Kenzaki Tsurugi, I agree with fireattack. Angels with that scary wings is a nightmare and it doesn't make sense. Halo + wings tag is enough (?)

But birds wings is feather and common angel wings also feather (post #179336, post #185611, post #1121935). If we look on older posts, their wings are bright golden or blue (post #6332).

Well, this is the reason why I’m asking that, because I don’t want to add wrong tags. Until now, I was adding “angel” only because it was the only tag for characters with a halo above their heads, being real angels or not.

Now, I see¹ that there are currently 2,243 pictures of BA “angels” characters with a halo (56 pages of 40 pics + 3 more pics), but without the “halo” tag. I’m not feeling brave enough right now to add this “halo” tag on all of them, one by one… orz And I’m not even talking about the other “angel”-taggued pictures without “halo” that don’t belong to BA and should have it.

I'm cool with it either way, I initially thought they were spikes until I figured Kenzaki Tsurugi looks like a fallen angel that had their feathers ripped out. post #1050894 does the best job of showing this imo while others including the official art make me feel 50/50 about that conclusion since I didn't realize what it was until it finally clicked.

Are we reach end of this discussion?
Please mods (or someone) create summary on the Forum in case the user doesn't know how tagging angel.
