I know about the rule of hiding a child post if a higher quality copy is posted, but if that higher quality copy is being held from the index, I do not see the point of hiding a child copy until the parent is released into the index which could take days or weeks.

I'm unhiding it pending a moderator's decision.

What's the point of seeing a low-quality version?
In my opinion, low-quality versions should be deleted.

Because the high quality version has not been released yet? Deal with it then.

26 upvoters don't have a problem with it, it's not even tagged for artifacts. I'd say sufficient quality. Also the child post has a ready link to the parent, which is gone if hidden or deleted.
