The thing I've found most bizarre with dealing with pizza chains is how much the pizza changes from place to place. You'd think that they'd be pretty standardized, but they actually can vary a fair bit. For instance, I've had pizza hut pizza which was dripping with grease, and I've pizza hut pizza which was so dry that it might as well have been cardboard.
The most bizarre thing though is the fact that pizza hut is an American company, and yet when it's used in anime, it has to be removed when sold in the US - probably because pizza hut only paid for advertising in Japan, but it's stupid just the same. Are they going to get mad at free advertising or something? Oh well. Stupidity abounds in this world.

Well, that I understand. But it seems dumb to me that they'd have to go to extra effort to change the anime because the advertiser hadn't paid for that market. I assume that they changed it because they don't want to get into legal trouble over it, but you'd think that such free advertising would be welcomed rather than be a cause for a potential lawsuit.
There, that's why. If Pizza Hut doesn't pay, ads must be removed.
For that same reason, a lot of weird ads in videogames were removed. Coca Cola was featured in Shenmue for Dreamcast in its japanese version, but the american version had to omit those.
I'm just saying that I find it incredibly bizarre that free advertising would lead to legal trouble. It's obviously a real issue because such changes are made, but it strikes me as really odd/stupid.
