What exactly happens that you end up with images listed as being new but they already have votes on them? This one is currently listed at two days old, but I'm pretty sure that I haven't seen it in the last two days, and yet I've already voted on it. It also has 99 votes, which is quite a few for just two days. It seems like this image inherited its votes somehow. I've seen this happen before, but I've never understood it. Is it that if you replace an image it gets a new post date but retains all of its vote data?
There, let's make it 100.

Odd though :)
A deleted child scan will transfer its 'favorites' to the parent.

Yikes. It's like it's eating its children...

In all seriousness, I find it odd that that would happen since the parent and child images could be quite different, meaning that someone could really like one and not particularly like the other. Personally, it messes me up somewhat since the fact that an image has been voted on by me would indicate that I've already downloaded it, and if the favorites are transferred, then I might have effectively voted on an image that I've never seen. But I was more concerned with finding out what was happening with the votes than being particularly unhappy with it.
Yeah, but it's only used for deleted images. We shouldn't just remove your favorites without moving them elsewhere.

It would be better, though, if the person who favorited the image was informed of favorite transfers.

They're usually being deleted when the image is exactly the same except the new one has better quality, so I'd think that you'd like the new one more. If the image is different it won't be deleted for being a duplicate (as it can't be 'cause it's different)

It surely would.
