I take it that you're in Japan then? That would be highly abnormal in the US (it may happen, but it's definitely not normal). I don't think that I've seen either of my parents or any of my siblings naked since I was quite small. Showers are taken separately, and none of us run around naked, so we have no reason to see each other naked (aside from my parents seeing each other naked of course).

They have Hot Springs (Onsen) in Japan.
Saunas are in Finland.

like post #116355, Japanese can bathe several person at the same time in home baths.
When I was at elementary school, I usually took a bath with 2~3 siblings and parents.

it seems pretty common in anime - sadly when they localize things, those bathing scenes push the age ratings up on the US releases to levels they really don't deserve.

Yeah, and yet horrific violence is less of a problem. Remember kiddies, in America it's OK to disembowel someone, but you'll go straight to hell if you see them naked! ヽ(ｏ`皿′ｏ)ﾉ

And yes, this attitude really ticks me off. People here really need to chill out and worry about more important things than the occasional nudity. (Especially when it's in non-erotic situations.) ☆⌒(＞。≪)

It's due to the religious beliefs of the first settlers of this country. It has persisted throughout the generations.
