She's just a popular character these days. Drawing popular characters = more doujinshi sales! Actually, I really like Tenshi. I think she also appeals to the Ayanami Rei type fans, but Tenshi is more moe. :3 I'm glad that Tenshi is a popular character.

I must agree with you... Rei is a character that I never liked, and never will.
That void of feelings disturbs me. I'm not like that and people who are confuses me.
I can't see anything wrong with not liking Rei. People are free to like her or not anyways.
