I downloaded the first episode and it looks like an American cartoon - this pic is quite misleading. Haven't actually watched it, just browsed a few scenes.

Pic is from the transformation scene of the first episode. (about 10:00). Definitely worth watching in my opinion.

IMO it was awesome. What they're aiming for is uniqueness and overblown proportions and I think it was a major hit.
It really depends on whether or not you're sick of the average anime garbage of the past 2 years.

Didn't like it - only made it about 1/2 way through the 1st ep. I prefer "deeper" stuff (Darker than Black, Higurashi for example) - or if it's not deep, I prefer it to be moe :)

I wanted to think of this show as trying too hard aesthetically, but I couldn't--it looks neat and it's fun to watch.

It's exactly the way peto described it lol, just turn your brain off and enjoy it.

It's actually nice to see a anime that's not so deep. I don't have to stop and think about it. It's kind of like an older American cartoon, only with more dirty jokes. I'm getting tired of all the moe anime myself, I love action anime a lot more.

Personally I hate ecchi anime, but I loved Panty & Stockings. Then again, it doesn't take ecchiness to the extreme like some anime do. (*Cough*LadysVrsButlersanyone? *Cough*)

Thus far, Star Driver, and Panty & Stockings are some of my favourite anime this Fall.

MM! was entertaining, but could quickly devolve - hopefully it sticks to 12 eps - 26 would be overkill on that theme.

I'm waiting for Index II and checking out Ore no Imouto tonight.

The animation turns me off for both of those animes. I dunno why. And Ore no Imouto has a tsundare, I can't stand tsundares. D:

I'm watching 5 anime this fall. Continuing Shiki, and sticking with Star Driver and Panty & Stocking. I need to watch Bakuman, and I'm waiting for Kuragehime. Because it's directed by Banccano! and Durarara!!'s director.

MM will do fine if they keep it stupid. Too many shows like that decide they need a plot and tone down the stupid--which is always terrible.

For example, sora no otoshimono: the first two episodes were way too much fun for how absurdly stupid the show was--then, inexplicably, they decided it was time to get serious, and I stopped watching a couple episodes later.

Loved Baccano - I'll have to check out Kuragehime.

I don't know about aesthetically, but from the beating-you-over-the-head-with-the-joke stand-point, it's trying way, way, way too hard. ☆⌒(＞。≪) I just don't find it funny when every joke slaps the viewer in the face and screams in your ear "HEY, WE'RE DOING THE FUNNY NOW, LAUGH!!". (*´ο`*)

Not to mention that transformation scene took fan-service to new levels. Pole-dancing? Stripping? Not something I've seen many other animes do, not even highly eechi ones. And one of the main characters is basically a nympho? No thanks, if I want to feel like I'm watching porn I'll just... watch porn. （￣へ￣）

I suspect it's going to be a terribly polarizing show, either people will love it, or they'll hate it, there won't be any in-between. And truly, I can't say an anime has ever out-right disgusted me like P&Sw/G has and I'm pretty perverted. ＼（－－）／

true true, but unfortunately i love it. the fact its by gainax (and music remixed by m-flo) make the ppl who like it, love it even more.

It's Gainax. People will invent this show more virtues than it really has (and will ignore its deffects, no matter if they're so damned obvious) and call it BEST THING EVUH ZOMG

I still remember when they animated Karekano (a nice show, BTW) and Evatards were idolizing it and saying it had a lot of deep messages not everyone would be able to understand. WTF
