This is an old image, but noticed something(while hunting wallpapers), in image #186138 these same girls are at apparent graduation, and one of the three girls in it holds up a frame with the image of the fourth girl seen here, the one reading the pamphlet/magazine, indicating she's deceased. Anyone know if there's a story behind(game?) or if they're original?

And I think that it’s just some original artworks, nothing more.
This is a scene of Tokyo(Hattori watch store in Ginza) around 1942-43.
post #186138 is a scene of Aomori (northern Japanese countryside) in the spring of 1946.
They evacuated to the countryside to avoid air raids, but one of them died.

Thanks, that was interesting to know! Wonder if it was based on the artist's own past?

Impossible, as she's born in 1990: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%97%A4%E3%81%A1%E3%82%87%E3%81%93

I wouldn't expect it to be anything she personally experienced either, but we all have that one uncle, grandfather, mom etc who has stories to tell from family history...

Highly probable!
