over 4 years agoIf it was a cello (no chin or shoulder rests) its way small.
The violin placed against one's neck is not high enough to reach your chin. You'd need to bend your neck an inch or so forward (a rather tough position to hold it in) to keep the violin in place. To hold it up with your left hand as you are playing is difficult, since you gotta be tapping the fingerboard and shifting positions too.
Besides, the sculpted chin rests feel way better.
