I saw it pretty clearly with no curve layer, but i added one here to blatantly express it. Easier at 400% zoom. Sure the image was pretty good but the quality of the save wasn't.

Then you get funky textures too on the belly area too. Unless these are here for looks, then it's simply bad compression.



Many uploads of this guys work from pixiv follow similar pattern of colour banding, which i'm surprised they have even passed to be posted. I can't exactly look at all of them but of the one i have looked at, they almost all need a second opinion about deletion.

I'm not too concerned about the process in which the artist took to completion but if the presentation of the finish work is crap, what good is it?

aoie emesai, I have to say that the artifacts are quite obvious. They are not banding effects. Rather they look like aliasing.

But aoie emesai, you are too young sometimes so naive. The quality metric of images on this site is neither mathematical nor psychological. So if you don't think it of enough quality, don't ask, don't tell, just ignore it.

Please remember that mods are able to delete images without asking. The poor finishing and average artwork are enough reason to my eyes but I will rely on fireattack's choice in this case.

If that is the consensus then ill accept it for now but I don't personally think it's acceptable.

I see the color banding too, the compression the artist is using is too aggressive. Sort of on the line, but I personally don't think its bad enough to justify deletion. We've kept worse at any rate.
