How do you mean, exactly? IMO the entire anime style looks "plastic," but not always in a bad way. Definitely unreal at times, but is that not part of the appeal?

i was talking about the lighting and shading of the images, for example:

that pic looks less plastic for the shading/lighting it has.

It's simply a style. You aren't forced to like it or anything.
Pantyhose are actually typically drawn with that effect though.
