I think the style is from horiguchi yukiko (堀口悠紀子), she is the character design of K-on. This style can also find in her cover drawn like post #224821 and post #195166

Something interesting I saw on the wikipedia. Horiguchi yukiko is respected by an animator akai toshifumi (赤井俊文) who works in A-1 pictures. He tries to imitate her style, but in the kokoro connect whose novel cover drawn by horiguchi yukiko, his character design of the anime is such a disaster I think. His character design of sora no woto also destroys kishidal mel's work, he can learn more from horiguchi yukiko still.

you can't judge it just based on if it's better than original or not. Apparently one 'anime' chara design cannot beyond some professionals like Kishida Mel (acutally mor because of 'style'), i don't think if Horiguchi did Sora no Woto it would be any better. And the original design of k-on is like post #217362, if you're a fan of kakifly you will also think Horiguchi's design is disappointing.

someone should re-color their hair to match their K-On look-a-likes.

我想表达的应该不是这个意思。我想说的是动画的人设应该尽可能地还原原作的设定，您所说的能比原作好的人设真的屈指可数。要说评价标准的话，不懂绘画的我只可能以一己之好恶来评价，我只是对官网上的设定及诸如 post #219444之类的海报实在不感兴趣。

这确实是个有趣的问题。如果从K-ON的不同艺术形式的影响力上来比较，kakifly的漫画应该是不如京都动画的，那为何人们有可能会对堀口的设定感到失望呢？人的判断标准总会与其自身的所闻所见息息相关，如果作为kakifly的死忠，当然有可能会对堀口的设定不屑一顾。某种程度上来说每个人只可能以一己之好恶作为评价标准，这在艺术方面似乎更为适用。
