Yukimachi usagi (Rabbit Waiting for the Snow)

I once saw a photograph somewhere of a girl standing on her own against a background of snow; it made a strong impression on me and this picture is based on that faint memory.
I tried to create an impression of coldness but with a tiny spark of warmth. I like the theme of ‘waiting for somebody’ in winter. However, in this situation, the cold might win.

By the way, is the idea of making snow rabbits unique to Japanese culture?

Fluffy earcuffs and the snowy ambience really gives a warm feeling ~ I like the feeble lights coming from the cabin in the background too.
