Cool☆shiki〜2012〜(COOL☆Four Seasons — 2012)
• Tokyo Sky Tree
This is the most talked about radio tower in recent years. While I was working on this illustration, it was lit up and it looked so wonderful that I changed my original rough sketch (which did not have the tower in it). I am looking forward to when it is opened to the public.
• Fan Throwing Competition
A target, called a butterfly, is placed on a stand on the other end of a tatami mat then various techniques are used to throw an open fan and knock it off, the participants competing for points. The fan in this picture was drawn with the image of this game that has come to us from ancient times. I hope that you will be able to catch something of the pulse of Japanese culture in which old and new are mixed.
In closing I would like to thank everybody for giving me the opportunity to take part in this wonderful event.
