The 1st episode of the new season of Rosen Maiden is so difficult, since so many years have passed before the last episode finishes, the producers must take into account for two groups of people, the fans who have done the last two season and the new comers who didn't heared maidens at all.

Yeah, but instead of following the plot of the other two seasons (because at the middle of the first season the producers decided to ignore the manga's story) they're adapting Rozen Maiden Tales, the sequel. The first episode was meant to refresh the memory of the people who read the original manga, not for the viewers of the first two seasons.
