But my personal sence feels that Japanese anime talk about battle quite often, you can always see words like "○○作戦", "○○隊" which relative to millitary, and even sports and competition.
Despite it used to be the same in Chinese colloquial about over 20 years ago, for example sports players would say "准备战斗" before going to play the game, "迅速结束战斗" was used as joke to urge someone to do the work faster, when someone looked depressed or failed we say "吃了败仗", "败下阵来", if a pupil went to school but forgot to take the book, the teacher would complain, the others laugh at him "上战场不带枪"...etc. But all these rumors are faded out from the newer generation, the slangs in younger people (including me, although I'm not teenager long ago) rarely say words about war to describe the everyday behavior.
