Her name has always been written with an 'L'.
I think the only reason that she's always called Horo is because traditionally the Japanese (including her seiyuu, apparently) can't pronounce the 'L'.

You're right: Japanese pronounce R and L with a "rolled R" (as in Spanish or Italian), and it's still a bit confusing for us (non-Japanese people).

In another way, you have transcriptions not based on the main methods (Hepburn and Kunrei): "Cocolo" instead of "Kokoro"...
If you mean Cocolo, it's because she has an official "English/Latin script name" (post #228958), not just a transcription.
