I don't think this is Megami fault. For the start, character design of KonoSuba for anime version isn't great if compared with LN version. Even if DEEN animator got task to draw just single picture and have a lot of time, they can't deviant from basic anime design.

I think the anime character design is not what is wrong with this picture.

To me, this picture looks like the anime on it's worst points when the animators seemed to be lazy/thight on budget.
To use something of that quality as a poster in a magazine reeks of laziness to me. Just look at the wacky anatomy, especially Megumin's, including her face, and the back from the blond girl.

I'd dare to say there are many moments in the anime where, if you would pause and take a screenshot, you would get a nicer picture than this here.
