Yeah, well, it's not like both tails can be an extension of the spine when you have two tails. And even the one that seems to be connected to the bottom of her spine comes out at the wrong angle for it. But what do you expect? People don't have tails, and AFAIK, no animals do. So, it's not like you can expect her tails to be realistic.

In real life people don't have wings or animal ears/horns on top of their skull either but that doesn't mean you should just put them wherever you please in a drawing.

Unless this girl is supposed to have some cat girl genetic defect it makes little sense to have one of her tails so off-centre in my opinion.

even though they dont exist in reality, the natural world still favours symmetry outside of freak mutations.

personally, i suspect the artist thought "it'l get more hits as a touhou lookalike than as a catgirl OC" then added the extra tail.
