Does it make more sense why they're standing on capacitors if you can read the flag?
Not really, it reads "pregnancy"..
It's said that it's referring to bulging capacitors. But I'm not sure about those high school girls.
Yeah I think you're right. In the making it originally says "液もれ" (translates to "spilled" I think), but later changed to "pregnancy" for the lulz.

Seems to be an odd way of suggesting it's a bad capacitor. Electrolytic caps bulge when they go bad. The analogy continues to work when you consider the electrolyte leaking out (upon total failure) could be considered akin to a water breaking.
pregnant = bulge, seems ok to me..
