Why removed the circle's tag? The artist is recruited by that brand to draw the title's characters officially, not some fanart-like illustrations.
Circle (game studio) tag should only be used on official material published directly by the studio (physical or digital, but not from a 3rd party like artbooks under artists' names, or magazines). Circle tag is not designed as a way to distinguish between fan-art and official art (how you're going to do it with anime-related pictures anyway?).

(An offical_art tag would be more suitable for that purpose, but I don't see it being added back any soon..)

I think this way will be more consistent with doujin "circle" tag: we only tag so when the post is from a doujinshi or doujin goods, but not when they are random drawings posted on web by the (same) main artists of those circles, even though they are as "official" as doujinshi content (same artists after all).

But this is just my interpretation all these years (and I'd admit I don't consistently "enforce" it), so feel free to provide your thought on this.

Well, I asked that was just purely for the reasoning behind that instead of criticizing it. I think the points you've made are valid and reasonable, and so if this is also part of this site's rules/guidelines, I will surely follow it.
